An official of the Absheron region executive power was arrested in connection with bribery

An official of the Executive Power of the Absheron region, accused of issuing a construction permit in exchange for a bribe, was arrested. APA reports that information about this was disseminated by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office. As a result of operational-search activities carried out on the basis of information received about the illegal actions of Mirgasym Mirishli, senior consultant of the department of territorial administration and local self-government bodies of the office of the head of the executive power of the Absheron region, a criminal case was opened in the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Operational and investigative measures established strong suspicions that Mirgasym Mirishli received a bribe of 25 thousand manats out of the demanded 30 thousand manats from a citizen who applied for permission to carry out construction work on a land plot intended for agriculture in the Absheron region. M. Mirishli was detained while receiving a bribe, his office and car were searched, material evidence important to the case was discovered and seized. He was charged under Art. 308.2 and 311.3.3 of the Criminal Code, the court decided to select a preventive measure in the form of arrest.

Operational and investigative activities in the criminal case continue.
