Accused of embezzlement of 1.4 million manats acquitted

The complaint of Orkhan Maharramov, accused of fraud committed against his own uncle and misappropriation of more than a million rubles, was satisfied, oxu.az reports. The Baku Court of Appeal, after a thorough investigation of the criminal case, came to the conclusion that the defendant was innocent.

By the decision of the judicial panel chaired by Elbey Allahverdiyev, O. Maharramov was acquitted and released from custody in the courtroom. Previously, Orkhan Maharramov was found guilty of embezzling 1.4 million manats belonging to his uncle Amil Aliyev.

According to the verdict of the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, he was found guilty under Article 178.3.2 (fraud committed with causing large damage) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic and sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison.
