About 100 kg of drugs were seized

On November 20, 2023 on the territory of the border outpost of the Goradiz border detachment of the border troops of the State Border Service (SBS), located near the village of Amirzeyidli, Beylagan region, the fact of violation of the state border with Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan by two unknown persons was revealed, oxu.az reports with reference to the SBS press center . The border violators were armed with firearms, and one of them had a large bag in his hands.

The border guard gave the command “Stop” and opened warning fire in the air. The border violators, who did not obey the order, opened fire on the border troops, abandoned the cargo and, taking advantage of unfavorable weather conditions and difficult terrain, fled back to Iranian territory.

As a result of a border search, more than 95 kg of narcotic drugs (10 kg 100 g of methamphetamine, 85 kg of opium) were discovered in the territory.

Investigative and operational measures are ongoing regarding this fact.
