A criminal case has been initiated into a fire at the building materials market in Baku

A criminal case has been opened into a fire at the building materials market in Baku. According to Report, joint information was disseminated by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Based on information received about a fire on the territory of the construction materials market, located in the Narimanovsky district of the capital, the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately brought to the scene. The fire caused damage to retail facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs. In addition, businessman Razi Gasimov, born in 1962, died as a result of the fire.

Operational and urgent measures to extinguish the fire continue with the involvement of special technical means and manpower. Based on this fact, the operational investigation department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations initiated a criminal case under Article 225.2 of the Criminal Code (Violation of fire safety rules).

Forensic fire-technical examinations have been appointed in the case to establish the cause of the fire and the extent of damage, as well as a forensic medical examination to establish the cause of death of Razi Gasimov.
