Azerbaijan Central Election Commission: presidential candidates will be provided with free airtime and space for publications in the media

In order to conduct election campaigning, persons whose candidacies are registered to participate in the early presidential elections will be provided with free airtime and space for publications in a number of media outlets, Trend reports with reference to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan.

These are the following media entities: Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company; newspaper “Azerbaijan”; “Xalq qəzeti”; newspaper “Respublika”; newspaper “Bakinski rabochy”.

When the above structures, including other television and radio broadcasters and editorial offices of periodicals, make a decision on the possibility of allocating paid air time for election campaigning or a place for publication, a corresponding notification must be sent to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, information about the basis, conditions must be published and the amount of payment for the provision of air time and space no later than 30 days after the official publication of the decision to call elections.
