The Prosecutor General’s Office on the reasons for the increase in the number of crimes related to bank cards

In Azerbaijan, there is an increase in the number of crimes related to the theft of funds from citizens’ bank cards. According to Report, this was announced by the head of the General Prosecutor’s Office Natig Abdullayev. According to him, one of the main reasons for this is citizens’ ignorance of the rules for the safe use of bank cards.

Abdulaev said that citizens, without suspecting anything, voluntarily transfer personal information to scammers: “In this regard, explanatory work is being carried out. If a citizen encounters fraud, he should block his bank card and contact technical support.”

The head of the department also noted that the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Combating Cybercrime, created this year, continues to fight cybercrimes
