Azerbaijan imposing criminal liability on attributes and symbols aimed at the fragmentation of territorial integrity
Criminal liability is being determined for displaying, spreading, preparing, acquiring, transporting, or carrying attributes or symbols aimed at the fragmentation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, it was reflected in the proposed amendment to the Criminal Code discussed at the meeting of Milli Majlis today, APA reports.
According to the proposed Article 281-1 of the Criminal Code, displaying, spreading, preparing, acquiring, transporting or transporting attributes or symbols aimed at the fragmentation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be punished by restriction of freedom for a period of up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same period.
If the provided acts are committed by a group of persons or an organized group, that has colluded in advance, they will be punished by deprivation of liberty from 5 to 8 years, and if those acts are committed by the instructions of foreign organizations and their representatives, from 7 to 12 years.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
