Azerbaijan neutralizes 254 criminal groups last year
In 2023, 36,811 crimes were registered within all state bodies of Azerbaijan that were the subject of search and investigation activities, 87.8 % of the crimes were solved, Vilayat Eyvazov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan said during the board meeting, on January 23, 2024, APA reports.
According to him, number of crimes per 100,000 people consisted of 360 cases. Solving 89.6 % of cases of 94.5 % or 34,783 committed crimes which were procedurally investigated by bodies of internal affairs and prosecutor’s offices as illegal acts, were ensured: “89.6 % of grave crimes, 84.6 % of crimes that occurred in non-evident circumstances, 98.4 % of crimes against the personality, 96.1 % of intentional homicides, 97.4 % of attempted homicides, 98.9 % of intentionally caused harm to health, 96.3% of cases of hooliganism, 79.6% of crimes against property, including 98.1% of robberies, 97.5% of threats, 97.2% of carjackings, and 92.1% of frauds were solved. The results of the opening of small thefts improved by 3.6 % to stand at 84,5 %. 4.324 persons who committed grave and seriously grave crimes were caught and 254 criminal groups were neutralized.”
