Operation in Khatai district: 26 kg of drugs discovered

During another event held in the Khatai district of Baku, employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained previously convicted Azer Gasimov (born 1969) and his acquaintance Arif Aliyev (born 1964), oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that during a personal inspection and search in A. Aliyev’s house, 26 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were discovered – 4 kg of heroin, 18 kg of marijuana and 2 kg of opium and methamphetamine each.

The detainees reported that they purchased drugs smuggled into the country from Iran to be delivered to the territory of the Garadagh region to private individuals in order to receive money.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainees.
