An investigation is underway into the death of a patient at the Republican Psychiatric Hospital

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office received numerous requests from media representatives regarding the death of a patient at the Republican Psychiatric Hospital B.V. (conditional name) as a result of a blow to his head while eating. The Prosecutor General’s Office told APA that an investigation into the fact is underway at the Sabunchu District Prosecutor’s Office.

During the investigation, forensic medical examinations and other laboratory tests were carried out, and the necessary procedural actions were completed.

According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia (suffocation), caused by the entry of a foreign body into the respiratory tract, pharynx and larynx.

Also, the examination concluded that it is impossible for a foreign body to enter the respiratory tract from a blow to the head.
