Illegal weapons confiscated from citizens in Baku and regions

Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted operations in Baku and regions of the country against persons illegally storing and organizing the sale of firearms. Report was informed about this by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was noted that during the events, 19 armed persons were detained. 18 firearms were found and seized from them, including six Makarov and European-made pistols, seven Kalashnikov assault rifles, a PM-98 machine gun, 243 cartridges of various calibers, etc. In addition, about 2 kg of marijuana.

Criminal cases have been initiated on the facts. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against each of the detainees, and an investigation is underway.
