Persons involved in blackmail detained

The Nakhchivan police carried out an operation against gang members who extorted money from citizens through threats and sent the received funds to persons serving sentences in correctional institutions, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that as a result of the event, residents of the city of Nakhchivan Gadir Guliyev and Togrul Zohrabov, previously convicted of smuggling, fraud, robbery and drug-related crimes, were detained. They were detained while receiving money from the person they were blackmailing. In their testimony, the attackers admitted to their crime.

Currently, the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is conducting an investigation in connection with this fact.
