Drugs worth 35 million manat were seized from circulation in Azerbaijan

In January-February of this year, 1 ton 212 kg 963.32 g of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances with a total value of 34 million 344 thousand manats was seized from illicit trafficking in Azerbaijan. Report informs, this is stated in the report of the permanent working group of the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

As a result of comprehensive investigative measures carried out by law enforcement agencies in this area, 1,980 criminal facts were identified. Of these, 566 are associated with the illegal trade in narcotic drugs, 1,411 with their illegal acquisition and storage, 3 with the illegal sowing and cultivation of narcotic plants.

17 citizens of foreign countries were brought to justice, from whom 96 kg 387.564 g of various types of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were confiscated.
