Judgment made against those convicted of injuring a policeman

The Supreme Court has considered a cassation appeal against the court decision against Rufat Zaitov and Ismayil Ismayilov, accused of illegal trafficking in drugs and other prohibited substances, oxu.az reports. At the trial, chaired by Judge Ilgar Gylyjov, a decision was announced according to which the complaint was not satisfied. Earlier, the Baku Grave Crimes Court sentenced both to 10 years in prison.

It is noted that as a result of investigative and operational search activities carried out by employees of the police and prosecutor’s office, in the Jalilabad district, persons suspected of illegally acquiring for the purpose of selling, storing and transporting large quantities of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as resisting a police officer.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under articles 234.4.1 (illegal acquisition, storage and transportation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by an organized group), 234.4.3 (illegal acquisition, storage and transportation of narcotic drugs , psychotropic substances or their precursors in large quantities) and 315.1 (resistance or use of force against a representative of authority) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
