Trial of the former head of the Ministry of Finance and the head of the State Customs Committee of Nakhchivan

A court hearing was held in the criminal case of the former Minister of Finance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Rafael Aliyev and Mansur Asgarov, who held the position of head of the department for regulation of customs tariffs and payments of the State Customs Committee (SCC). According to Report, the hearing at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s Grave Crimes Court was chaired by Judge Faig Heydarov.

The defendants are accused of committing acts under Article 179.4 (embezzlement of funds on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Mansur Asgarov pleaded partially guilty. The trial was postponed until May 2.
