The head of the municipality and the director of the LLC were arrested for embezzlement of state property

In Agdash, illegal actions of the head of the municipality and the director of the LLC were revealed, oxu.az reports with reference to information disseminated by the Agdash district prosecutor’s office.

The chairman of the municipality of the village of Kotavan, Rashad Samedov, having exceeded his official powers, without a decision of the general meeting of the municipality, entered into a construction agreement with Abadlyg-2012 LLC, and also, together with the director of the LLC Ali Dzhabiev, arbitrarily carried out construction work on an agricultural land plot without the right of joint ownership, use or rental. Reasonable suspicions have been established that they misappropriated state property on a large scale.

Rashad Samedov was brought as a defendant under articles 179.3.2, 188.4. and 309.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.

Investigative measures are ongoing to determine compensation for material damage.
