Drug smuggling from Azerbaijan to Russia prevented

As a result of an operation carried out by employees of the Sheki city police department, a 49-year-old resident of the Astara district, Ilyas Dadashov, suspected of drug trafficking, was detained, oxu.az reports with reference to the regional press service group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was found to have 2.1 kg of heroin and 3 kg of marijuana.

During the investigation, it was established that I. Dadashov was involved in drug trafficking for financial compensation by a person whose identity was established by the investigation. He was ordered to deliver these 5 kg of narcotic drugs smuggled into the country to the border zone with the Russian Federation and earn 1,500 manats from it.

By a court decision, I. Dadashov was arrested, the investigation into this fact continues.
