This year, drugs worth 79 million manats were seized from illicit trafficking in Azerbaijan

The total cost of 828 kg 028.848 g of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized from illicit trafficking in January-May of this year is estimated at 79 million 400.000 thousand manats, APA reports, citing the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Trafficking narcotic drugs.

According to the information, 2,934 people were prosecuted for drug trafficking, and 99 kg 593.615 g of various types of narcotic and psychotropic substances were seized from foreign citizens.
