Drug couriers detained

As a result of the operation conducted by the Gobustan District Police Department, Jeyhun Mammadov and Adil Jomard, who were involved in illegal drug trafficking, were detained. Three kilograms of marijuana and opium were found on the detainees, 1news.az reports with reference to the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The detainees stated that they were involved in drug trafficking by an Iranian citizen, whom they met through social networks – during the investigation it was also established that A. Jomard is wanted for a similar crime.

A criminal case has been initiated on the fact, and by the court’s decision, both detainees have been sentenced to arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
