Heads of two websites arrested on charges of blackmail

In Azerbaijan, heads of two websites have been arrested on charges of blackmail, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The head of Turantv.az Ramin Sadigli and the founder and editor-in-chief of the Bolgeinfo website Vugar Guliyev have been brought to justice by the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the charges, these individuals demanded money from more than 10 citizens, threatening to disseminate information defamatory of them on their websites. The detainees have been charged under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
