Trial of person accused of organizing crimes against the constitutional order begins
The trial of Azerbaijani citizen Imamverdi Akhmedov, accused of organizing crimes against the constitutional order of the country, begins, Report informs. The case materials have been sent to the Ganja Court for Grave Crimes for the proceedings of Judge Dadash Imanov. The preparatory hearing is scheduled for September 4, 2024.
The preliminary investigation under Article 28.278.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan was conducted by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan.
According to the investigation materials, since April 2023, Akhmedov has been gathering people with radical religious beliefs around himself. In order to organize riots and violent actions against government officials and violently change the constitutional order of Azerbaijan, he organized combat training for individuals.
Imamverdi Akhmedov was detained during operational activities of the State Security Service.
