Lawyer arrested

Lawyer of the Kamandar Nasibov and Partners bureau Babek Rzayev has been arrested on charges of “influence trading”, Report informs, citing a joint statement by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Bar Association.

According to the case materials opened by the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic prosecutor’s office, he appropriated citizens’ money in exchange for a promise to influence an official’s decision on legal proceedings.

Rzayev has been charged under Article 312-1.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (influence trading), and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of arrest against him.
