Newspaper editor detained

Employees of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Dəryaz (deryaz.az) Habil Tagiyev, oxu.az reports. It is noted that he demanded various amounts of money under the threat of disseminating incriminating information about individuals. He was charged under the article on extortion, and the court decided to choose a preventive measure in the form of arrest against him.

An investigation is currently underway into this fact.

Earlier, the newspaper Dəryaz was included in the “black list” of the Press Council of Azerbaijan.
