Interpol detains person who committed 80 thousand manat theft in Azerbaijan
The person who committed theft in Naftalan and then fled the country was detained in Russia, oxu.az reports with reference to the Ganja regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As a result of joint activities of the National Central Bureau of Interpol and the Naftalan Police Department in the Russian Federation, a resident of the city, Arif Veliyev, who was wanted on charges of committing a crime under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was detained and extradited to Azerbaijan.
It is noted that in September 2023, as a result of operational and search activities carried out by the Naftalan City Police Department, persons suspected of illegally entering an apartment belonging to a city resident and committing a theft from it were detained. During the investigation it was established that Elvin Akhmedli, Hikmet Mamishov and Arif Veliev conspired to steal 80,000 manat from the apartment of a close relative of E. Akhmedli.
