Persons who failed to return $93 million received from exports arrested
Persons who failed to return a large sum of money received from the export of agricultural products to the country have been arrested, APA reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Thus, based on the materials received by the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption from the State Customs Committee, criminal cases have been opened and a preliminary investigation is underway for the failure to return funds in the relevant currency by some business entities engaged in foreign economic activity.
It was established that Rufat Garayev, Elnur Garayev, Ibrahim Lalayev, Elmaddin Mukhtarov and others, having established Land Lojistics LLC, International Lojistics, entered into contracts for the purchase and sale of agricultural products with companies operating abroad, abused their official powers, and failed to return funds to the account of a bank authorized in the Republic of Azerbaijan in the amount of over 85.5 million US dollars (at the current exchange rate of 145.4 million manats).
