Convicted of extorting money by threats from the Chairman of the Board of AzerMash OJSC
The trial of Akhmed Akhmedov, accused of extorting 100,000 manats by threatening to kill the Chairman of the Board of AzerMash OJSC Emin Akhundov and his relatives, has ended, oxu.az reports. At the last hearing in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, the verdict was read out, according to which A. Akhmedov was found guilty of extortion by threats and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
It should be noted that A. Akhmedov did not plead guilty in court. He stated that he had known Emin Akhundov’s family for a long time, and that his brother Eldar owed him money. The accused also noted that he built a house for Eldar and fed the dog in his yard.
The Chairman of AzerMash also testified in court. He demanded severe punishment for Ahmed.
