Accused of 170,000 manat fraud to appear in court again

A cassation appeal against the decision against Ramin Agayev, accused of committing fraud in Baku, has been filed with the Supreme Court, oxu.az reports. The appeal will be considered under the chairmanship of Judge Alesker Novruzov. The date of the preliminary court hearing has not yet been announced.

According to the indictment, R. Agayev, posing as a businessman to six acquaintances recognized as victims in the case, convinced them to invest money in the purchase of iPhone 14 Pro Max mobile phones, which he would sell at a high price, and they would receive a profit. In 2023, at various times, he fraudulently appropriated the victims’ funds in the amount of 176,000 manat.

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced R. Agayev to 4 years, 11 months and 25 days in prison. He was arrested in the courtroom.

The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the verdict.
