Court rules against former official who took bribe

The Supreme Court has completed a hearing on the cassation appeal of the state prosecutor against the verdict against Sabir Asadov (name and surname conditional), accused of bribery, oxu.az reports. At the hearing chaired by Judge Shahin Yusifov, a decision was announced according to which the protest was not satisfied.

According to the indictment, Sabir Asadov worked as a state labor inspector at the Regional Registration and Examination Department No. 7 of the Main Directorate of the State Road Police. In July 2021, he received 150 manats from N.N. (name and surname conditional) a resident of Yenikend village, Agdash district, for preparing the necessary documents for the technical inspection of a VAZ-2107 car, which he drove under a power of attorney.

By the decision of the Sheki Court for Serious Crimes, S. Asadov was given a suspended sentence.
