Accused of killing two people sentenced to 20 years
The investigation of the criminal case of Arif Bakharchiyev, accused of killing two people in the Binagadi district of Baku, has been completed, oxu.az reports. At the trial chaired by the judge of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes Ali Mammadov, the accused was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Thus, on December 31, 2023, the district prosecutor’s office received information about the death of Namig Orujov (born in 1968) and Ramil Safarov (born in 1981) in a cafe in the village of Balajari. During the investigation, reasonable suspicions arose that 22-year-old A. Bakharchiyev deliberately killed N. Orujov and R. Safarov during a conflict at the said catering facility, inflicting multiple wounds on them with a kitchen knife.
Arif Bakharchiyev was charged under Articles 120.2.2 (intentional murder committed out of hooligan motives) and 120.2.7 (intentional murder of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
