Former head of water utility department arrested for bribes

Former head of Surakhani district water utility department Mehman Gashimov is accused of receiving bribes, oxu.az reports. He was arrested some time ago during an operation conducted by the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General.

According to the charges, M. Gashimov, taking advantage of his official position, repeatedly received bribes from citizens.

A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against the official.

The damage from M. Gashimov’s corrupt activities was suffered by the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan, which is recognized as the injured party in this criminal case.
