The Court of Appeal upheld the swindler’s sentence
A court hearing was held in the Baku Court of Appeal on the appeal against the sentence against Telli Adiyeva (born in 1971), accused of large-scale fraud by abusing the trust of citizens oxu.az reports that at the trial chaired by Judge Habil Mammadov, a decision was read out according to which the appeal was not satisfied.
T. Adiyeva was found guilty under Article 178.3.2 (fraud committed on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The court reported that Telli Adiyeva, having previously conspired with her son Kamaladdin, committed fraud against his acquaintance, an employee of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) Farhad Akhmedov, by giving him a false promise. They received 161,649 manat from F. Akhmedov, promising him assistance in buying and selling gold on international markets and making a profit.
Following the trial in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, T. Adiyeva was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. The case against her son K. Adiyev was separated into separate proceedings.
