Detained for fraudulent actions against three people
36-year-old Mikail Aliyev is accused of fraud against three people. The one who suffered the most from his actions was Aygun Khalilova, a long-time acquaintance of the accused, oxu.az reports. Mikail convinced Aygun that he owed a large sum of money and could be arrested if he did not pay the debt. Believing him, the woman gave her gold jewelry worth 57,600 manat so that Aliyev could pawn it at a pawnshop and take the money on the condition of subsequent return. However, the accused did not return the gold to its owner.
According to the accused’s lawyer Vugar Kazimov, his client does not plead guilty to any of the charges. They will present the evidence collected during the trial. The other victims, Fariz Ilyasov and Gabil Tagiev, lost a total of 5,000 manat. Aliyev promised to bring them cars from Georgia, but deceived them.
Mikail Aliyev has been charged with fraud on an especially large scale, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for him. The preliminary investigation of the case has been completed.
