Court issues ruling on Rufat Safarov accused of fraud

The Baku Court of Appeal has considered a complaint against the decision to choose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for human rights activist Rufat Safarov, oxu.az reports with reference to APA. At today’s session chaired by Judge Emin Mehdiyev, the appeal was not satisfied. The decision of the Binagadi District Court was upheld unchanged.

Earlier, by the decision of the Binagadi District Court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months was chosen for R. Safarov. He was charged under Articles 221.1 (hooliganism), 127.2.3 (intentional infliction of less serious harm to health, committed in a generally dangerous manner or out of hooligan motives) and 178.3.2 (fraud committed with causing major damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
