SSS operation: extremist group planning sabotage exposed
An extremist group planning sabotage and hostage taking has been exposed, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR). As a result of complex operational and investigative measures carried out by the SSS, a criminal organization created by citizens of the republic – Fakhreddin Shakhmurov (born in 1984), Jalal Muradov (born in 1960), Kamran Babayev (born in 1998) and other persons with the aim of committing serious and especially serious crimes against the foundations of the constitutional order of the AR was exposed. It was established that members of the group held secret meetings on the territory of the republic and created closed groups on social networks to prepare for sabotage acts against government agencies.
Fakhreddin Shakhmurov was brought to criminal responsibility under Articles 28.282.2 (preparation for sabotage by an organized group), 28.215.3 (preparation for hostage taking by an organized group), 218.1 (organization of a criminal community (criminal organization) and 281.2 (public calls against the state, committed repeatedly or by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Jalal Muradov and Kamran Babayev were arrested under Article 281.2 and other articles. Other persons were also brought to the investigation.
A comprehensive investigation is currently ongoing in the criminal case.
