Trial of former head of Defense Ministry’s financial service begins

The trial of former head of the Defense Ministry’s financial service, Jabrail Orujov, arrested for embezzlement in military units subordinate to the Defense Ministry, has begun, APA reports. On December 20, 2024, a preparatory hearing on the criminal case was held in the Baku Military Court. During the trial, chaired by Judge Bilal Mammadov, personal data were clarified. 

The hearing is scheduled for December 27, 2024.

The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has been recognized as the injured party in this criminal case. J. Orujov has been charged under Article 179.4 (embezzlement committed with causing damage on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
