Indictment read out at trial of French spy Martin Ryan

The trial of foreign citizen Martin Ryan, accused of spying for France, and Azad Mammadli, accused of treason, continued at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, Report informs. During the trial chaired by Judge Elmin Rustamov, the defendants were informed of their rights. Martin Ryan was provided with a lawyer and an interpreter.

The court session was open to representatives of local and foreign media, employees of foreign embassies. The trial was declared open. The state prosecutor read out the indictment.

The criminal case against Ryan and Mammadli was initiated by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan. Martin Ryan, a citizen of France and Great Britain, was born in 1988, has a higher education and was engaged in entrepreneurial activity in Azerbaijan.
