14 people arrested for hooliganism after traffic accident in Imishli district

A decision has been made regarding a group of people detained for hooliganism after a traffic accident in Imishli on January 18, oxu.az reports. The Imishli District Court received a motion from the investigative body in connection with the detained people.

The court considered the motion, and a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 3 months was chosen for 14 detained people. They were charged under Article 221.2.1 (hooliganism committed by a group of people) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

On January 18, at about 12:30, a traffic accident with a fatal outcome occurred on Abbasgulu Shadlinski Street in the city of Imishli with the participation of a traffic police vehicle. As a result of a collision with another vehicle that drove towards the traffic police vehicle, the service vehicle hit children on the side of the road. As a result, two schoolchildren died, another student and the driver of the traffic police vehicle received injuries of varying severity.
