Doctor brought to criminal responsibility: he must pay 142 thousand manats

A criminal case has been initiated against the former chief physician of the railway polyclinic No. 2, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine, Gamza Hasanov, who was awarded the “Honorary Railwayman” badge, Oxu.Az reports. The famous doctor was brought to responsibility under Articles 308 (abuse of office) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the investigation, it was established that G. Hasanov intentionally entered false medical data about citizens into the electronic system. In this way, he ensured that these individuals received pensions and caused significant damage to the state budget.

A few days ago, the Binagadi District Court found G. Hasanov guilty of the above-mentioned acts. As a result, the 66-year-old doctor of science was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 2 years.

A decision was also made to collect 141,954 manat from the convicted person in favor of the State Social Security Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population as the injured party (civil plaintiff).
