Attempt to smuggle 80 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented
An attempt to smuggle 80 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the press center of the State Border Service (SBS).
As a result of operational measures aimed at ensuring reliable protection of the state border, as well as combating smuggling, illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, on January 20 at 20:01, 80 kg 685 g of drugs (77 kg 645 g of marijuana, 3 kg 35 g of heroin, 5 g of opium), 1,000 pieces of methadone (M-40) and 245 different tablets, which they tried to illegally transport from the Islamic Republic to our country, were seized on the service territory of the Lankaran border detachment of the border troops command of the SBS.
Investigative measures are ongoing regarding this incident.
