Suspects of cyber fraud detained

In Azerbaijan, suspects of cyber fraud against celebrities on social networks have been detained, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of operational activities carried out by police officers in the capital, 40-year-old Eldeniz Mehraliyev and 34-year-old Elnur Mamedov, previously convicted of theft and drugs, were detained on suspicion of committing illegal acts.

It was established that they extorted money from celebrities on social networks on behalf of their friends indicated in their profiles. Under this scheme, the fraudsters took possession of various amounts of money.
