Police detain organizer of fake online courses
A group of people filed a complaint with the Nasimi District Police Department, reporting that a certain Rufat, posing as the head of one of the companies offering online work, by promising to conduct training courses on online trading, seized their funds and committed fraud, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, police officers identified and detained 27-year-old Rufat Shiraliyev.
During the investigation, it turned out that R. Shiraliyev presented himself on the Instagram social network as the head of a company that did not have the appropriate registration, and in his videos he announced that he was organizing training courses on online trading on the Shopify platform. Claiming that people who mastered the course would be able to earn a large income, he aroused people’s interest in training and sought to seize their funds.
It was also established that R. Shiraliev deceived several people under the pretext of selling them a ready-made business and appropriated their money, and under the pretext of installing programs on laptops of people who came for training, he took their laptops from them, handed them over to a pawnshop and received money.
An investigation is ongoing into this incident.
