9 kg of drugs seized from circulation

As a result of measures taken by the Astara District Police Department to combat drug trafficking, previously convicted 38-year-old Amid Bashirli and 44-year-old Nurlan Abbasov were detained, Oxu.Az reports, citing information distributed by the Lankaran regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

9 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances were found and seized from the detainees.

It turned out that they had smuggled the drugs from an Iranian citizen, whose identity is being established by the investigation.

During other activities, two more suspects in drug trafficking were detained – previously convicted Jamal Rzayev and Gunay Jafarova. Methamphetamine and marijuana were found and seized from them.

Criminal cases have been initiated on these facts, and arrest has been chosen as a preventive measure for each of the detainees.
