Former Director General of the Central District Hospital sentenced

The Goranboy District Court has completed the criminal case of Director General of the Central District Hospital Rauf Yakhyayev, oxu.az reports. He was found guilty and sentenced to restriction of freedom. An electronic tracking device, a bracelet, was attached to R. Yakhyayev’s leg.

Last summer, a criminal case was opened against the Director General, he was charged under Article 308-1 (failure to use state budget funds, targeted budget funds or extra-budgetary state funds for their intended purpose) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The investigation, which lasted several months, has been completed, and the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the district court for consideration. The case was heard under the chairmanship of Judge Taleh Mustafayev, and a guilty verdict was rendered.

Recall that before being brought to trial, R. Yakhyayev was involved in several scandals. In August 2022, he punched Lalezar Aliyeva, a resident of Bolsulu village in Goranboy district, causing her injury. Based on this fact, the district prosecutor’s office opened a case under Article 157 (battery) of the Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Administrative Offenses and sent it to the district court for consideration.
