Head of Arqument.az website arrested

Head of Arqument.az website Shamshad Aga, previously detained in connection with Meydan TV case, has been arrested. As Report informs, the decision was made in Khatai District Court.

Shamshad Aga, who was charged with smuggling, has been arrested for 2 months and 1 day.

Some time ago, law enforcement agencies detained Meydan TV employees – Ramin Jebrailzade (Ramin Deko), Aynur Gambarova (Elgunesh), Aytaj Akhmedova (Tapdyg), Aysel Umudova, Khayala Agayeva, Natig Javadli and Ulvi Tahirov.

They have been charged under Article 206.3.2 (smuggling committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
