Internationally wanted citizen extradited to Azerbaijan

Citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Mardaliev, who was on the international wanted list, has been extradited from Bulgaria, Oxu.Az reports with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the information, the process was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the European Convention on Extradition of December 13, 1957. The petition of the Prosecutor General’s Office was satisfied by the competent authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria.

It should be noted that J. Mardaliev was wanted on charges of fraud causing major damage. Due to evasion of investigation, he was put on the international wanted list.

According to the department, on February 7, 2025, he was delivered to Azerbaijan accompanied by a convoy of a special unit of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
