Convicted of robbing famous artist’s house

The house of famous artist, member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan Elchin Gasimov was robbed in Baku, oxu.az reports. Personal belongings worth 200 thousand manats were stolen from the artist’s house, located on Bulbul Avenue in the Nasimi district. During the investigation, it was established that the theft was committed by the building’s security guard, Uzeyir Aliyev (born in 1988), a native of the Jalilabad district.

The materials of the criminal case initiated against the arrested security guard under Articles 177.3.2 (theft causing major damage) and 183 (theft of items of particular value) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan were sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

The court established that the theft occurred when Elchin Gasimov was with his family at their dacha. It turned out that expensive watches, drinks and clothes, as well as items of historical significance were among the stolen items.

It is noted that Gasimov left the key to his six-room house with an area of ​​400 square meters on Bulbul Avenue to U. Aliyev, whom he trusted. After the arrest of the guard, some of the things he stole were returned.

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Uzeyir Aliyev to 8 years in prison.
