Another trial begins on corruption case solved by the State Security Service

A trial has begun on another criminal case, separated into a separate proceeding on the theft of 143 million manats from the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports. The accused in the case is Captain Vahid Novruzlu, who held the position of head of the financial service of the N-th military unit. He was brought to criminal responsibility as part of the investigation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS).

Initially, the investigative body allowed the captain to remain free on the condition that he compensate for the damage caused to the state. But later, due to non-payment of damages, Novruzlu was taken into custody.

The case will be heard in the Baku Military Court under the chairmanship of Judge Fikret Aliyev. The first court hearing will be held on February 28, 2025.
