The announcement of the indictment against the representatives of the former Armenian separatist regime completed

The next hearing on the case of the representatives of the former Armenian separatist regime in Karabakh, accused of war crimes against Azerbaijan, was held at the Baku Judicial Complex. As Report informs, the case is being handled by the Chairman of the Baku Military Court Zeynal Agayev. Each of the accused was provided with interpreters in a language they understood, as well as lawyers for defense.

There are 15 accused in the case: Arkady Ghukasyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan, David Ishkhanyan, David Babayan, Leva Mnatsakanyan, David Manukyan, Garik Martirosyan, Melikset Pashayan, Davit Allahverdyan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Madat Babayan, Vasily Beglaryan and Erik Ghazaryan. They are accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, including preparing and waging a war of aggression, genocide, violating the laws and customs of war, as well as terrorism, financing terrorism, violent seizure of power, violent retention of power and many other crimes as a result of Armenia’s military aggression.

State prosecutors Fuad Musayev and Vusal Abdullayev announced the part of the indictment concerning the crimes committed during the war and the participation of the accused in these crimes.

According to the case materials, from 1988 to 2024, 18,850 people were intentionally killed, including 3,493 civilians and 15,357 military personnel. Attempted murders were committed against 56,268 people, of which 4,435 were civilians and 51,803 were military personnel.
During the First Karabakh War and the subsequent period of occupation of Azerbaijani lands, as well as during the Second Karabakh War, the civil infrastructure of Azerbaijan suffered material damage totaling more than 5.2 billion manats. In general, during the war, the civil infrastructure, economy, ecology, defense arsenal and other areas of the Republic of Azerbaijan suffered total material damage totaling more than 100 billion manats. In the Baku court, Assistant Prosecutor General for Special Assignments Tugay Rahimli read out the articles of the Criminal Code under which the defendants Ghukasyan Arkady Arshaviri, Sahakyan Bako Sakhaki, Harutyunyan Arayik Vladimiri, Ishkhanyan David Rubeni, Babayan David Klimi, Mnatsakanyan Lyova Genrikhi, Manukyan David Azati, Babayan Madat Arakeli, Pashayan Melikset Vladimiri, Martirosyan Garik Grigori, Balayan Levon Romiki, Stepanyan Gurgen Gomerosi, Beglaryan Vasily Ivani, Kazaryan Eric Roberti and Allahverdiyan David Nelsoni are charged.

This concluded the reading of the final part of the indictment in the case. The next court hearing is scheduled for February 20.
