Large consignment of drugs from Iran seized, two foreigners arrested

A large amount of psychotropic substances and narcotics were found at the customs post, APA reports citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the State Customs Committee.

According to the information, cargo was inspected at the Ipek Yolu customs post of the Baku Main Customs Administration. 42 packages were found in one of the trucks, 25 of which contained 983.316 grams of methamphetamine. Two foreign citizens were detained, 16 methadone tablets were seized from them.

A criminal case was initiated under Articles 206.3.2 and 234.4-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and arrest was chosen as a preventive measure for the detainees by the relevant decisions of the Yasamal District Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
