Sentence passed on persons accused of extortion

The trial of Fuad Muradov, Ramil Pashanov and Gulnar Hajiyeva, accused of extortion, continued, oxu.az reports. The verdict was announced in the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Judge Dadash Imanov. Fuad Muradov was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison. He was detained in October 2023. By the decision of the Narimanov District Court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for him.

He and other defendants were charged under Articles 182.2.1, 182.2.2 and 182.2.4 (extortion committed repeatedly by a group of persons by prior conspiracy with the aim of seizing property in a significant amount) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Seven people were recognized as victims in the criminal case.
